Originally established in 1989, Transformative Smiles has been a staple in the Brea community for decades. In 2025, Dr. Elisabeth Sewell, became the new owner of the practice with a fresh perspective and a strong commitment to preserving the hometown feel patients have come to know and love. Dr. Sewell serves patients of all ages and backgrounds. At our office, you will find a relaxed atmosphere and a team who truly cares. Dr. Sewell spends time with each patient to ensure a personalized and complete dental plan is uniquely tailored to each patient based on their individual needs and desires. Dr. Hufham has been practicing orthodontics in Birmingham for over 24 years, and in the Brea area since 2003. He is a graduate of The University of California and The University of California School of Dentistry. He completed his specialty training in Orthodontics at The University of Pennsylvania. A 3 rd generation dentist and 2 nd generation Orthodontist, his father was an Orthodontist in Dothan, AL for over 25 years. Dr. Hufham and his wife Joanna have 3 grown children, Anna, James, and Henry.

I have high anxiety to dentistry due to young child experience. Had to have meds to just walk in for cleanings and fillings back then. Dr. Sewell was so patient with me and so gentle in pulling an infected tooth. I didn't realize what she had done until she said she was finished. The cleaning episode was a miracle. These 2 ladies are GOD send for me. Thank you and I'll be there again on Monday for 2nd appointment.
Went in for an extraction. They were super nice and very informative. The first extraction went so well I went ahead and had them do a second one while I was there. Overall a very good experience.

I am 72 with disability & mobility issues. I required much assistance & special considerations from the staff, of which I received 100 %. I had an extraction. There was zero pain during the procedure & none after. Barely a little tenderness at the removal site. I had little bleeding & the numbness wore off quicker than anywhere I've ever been. Dr. Sewell & her staff are excellent & I highly recommend them.
This was my first visit with Dr. Sewell. She took the time to talked with me. She listened to my reason for coming to her and made me feel very comfortable. She is very thorough with her work and very knowledgeable in what she does. Dr. Sewell fixed my problem within an hour and I left thanking God for showing me the way to her.
